 In order for the simulator to work, he or she must put the ball on a short tee and a box of sensors and lasers are in front of the tee. The sensors pick up where the ball is. 
When the golfer hits the ball, it shows up on a projector screen. When the ball appears on the screen it tells you certain information about the ball.
