Northeast Iowa Community College offered a construction simulation for interested students on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
This simulation was held for students interested in working with big machinery, such as bulldozers and excavators, in the future.
“Twenty-one students experienced this program,” teacher Seth Harms said. “This is the first time we have seen a simulation like this.”
Harms would like this simulation to become a yearly event.
Trent Deutmeyer, a sophomore, said, “The simulation was really cool, and it was realistic.”
Students wore goggles and sat in front of a screen while operating the simulation.
“I thought it would be cool to see how to run the heavy machinery,” Deutmeyer said. “I liked how it was hands on.”
