Strategist teacher Jillian Frater joined the West Delaware staff this school year.

Earlier in her career, Jillian Frater worked at Lawther Academy, Cedar Rapids Community School District, and Anamosa High School as a strategist.

Frater tries to be an understanding teacher and think outside the box. “Also, as a teacher, I am willing to solve any dilemmas in the classroom for the benefit of the students,” Frater said.

Frater hopes to create a better understanding for students and come up with methods for teachers and students to use problem-solving to resolve matters. She also looks forward to collaborating with teachers to best help fit the needs of her students.

“I love the small moments of teaching, like when students understand a concept,” Frater said. “I also admire the support that the staff has for students and open communication.”

During the days she doesn’t spend at school, she watches her kids play volleyball, soccer, basketball, and softball.
