Fifteen students competed in the WaMaC Art Show at Central DeWitt High School on Apr. 18.

Fifteen students entered 20 pieces and nine earned an award. Molly Mullis (9) received first place for her black and white drawing along with Kamille Hawker (10) for her fibers/books. Mariah Kelchen (12) earned a second place ribbon for her film photography. Mullis collected a third place ribbon for her colored drawing along with Emily Ronnebaum (10) for her jewelry and Calasandra Spray (12) for her film photography. Ronnebaum received an honorable mention for her 2D mixed media as well as Spray for her jewelry.

Even though these students did not travel to DeWitt because of severe winter weather, the students were still honored to have their artwork shown.

It doesn’t matter if your artwork doesn’t receive a ribbon because having their artwork in the show already makes them winners.
