Carpentry Students Build Pavilion

Adjusting to their lab not being finished due to school renovations, students in Basic Carpentry stepped up to build a pavilion in front of the middle school.

Teacher Chad Sellers challenged his students to work together to build this structure.

With a project like this, it is all about following directions and team building,” Sellers said. “All students have picked up some sort of leadership skill and have worked well in small groups.”

Students collaborated with one another as they shared many ideas about how to do certain steps.

“This project has been a team effort as there are many parts and pieces,” sophomore Keegan Carnicle said. “One person usually reads directions while a majority of the class puts the pieces together.”
