The West Delaware girls’ golf team is undefeated, 6-0

The West Delaware varsity girls’ golf team set off to a tee this season.

Starting the season off defeating South Tama April 6, the very next week they won a set of triangulars.

On April 12, at the Amana Colonies Golf Course, West Delaware shot 216, Marion 239, and Clear Creek-Amana 249. 

Finishing their week at home, on April 15, they defeated Williamsburg and Vinton-Shellsburg. West Delaware shot 196, Williamsburg 199, and Vinton-Shellsburg 237.

At the Tara Hills Country Club, on April 22, the girls won the triangular with 195, Benton 229, and Maquoketa 275. 

At the West Delaware invitation, on April 26, the girls beat Clear Creek-Amana and Vinton-Shellsburg. 

“I’ve been very impressed on how the girls have improved during practice,” coach Brett Mather said. “The results are showing they’ve got a great work ethic and continue to have fun with the game of golf.” 

They play again tonight at 4 p.m. at Pin Oak Pub & Links golf course against Solon.
