On Dec. 20, students and faculty members gathered at an assembly to celebrate the holidays and the start of break.

Instead of the past tradition of the jazz band playing tunes, a saxophone quartet, including Taylor Hammer (11), Jacob Wenger (11), Tanner Kelchen (12) and Jacob Butler (12), greeted students outside the auditorium doors with holiday music and an open instrument case.

The assembly included numerous activities, such as a holiday version of musical chairs, a movie-themed guessing game, and a Santa face competition.

Between activities, multiple musical groups performed.

Grace Reth (11) enjoyed the vocal and instrumental features the most. She believed they changed the experience from last year. “We had more student involvement because of the performances,” Reth said.
