The West Delaware Individual Speech team qualified 39 events for the Individual State contest on Saturday, March 9. At State, 24 members of the team received division Ⅰ ratings. Of those 24 individuals, three received All-State nominations.

The individuals nominated were senior Amber Cook’s Storytelling, “I Jumped Off the Golden State Bridge,” coached by Abby Osborne; senior Justin Grawe’s Solo Musical Theatre, “Don’t Let Me Go,” coached by Joe Hegland; and sophomore Natalie Kehrli’s Prose, “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,” coached by Abby Osborne.

The three individuals will be honored at the University of Northern Iowa for the IE All-State Festival on Monday, March 25. “We are really excited about the results of State Contest and our All-State nominations,” Osborne said. “It was a strange Individual Event season because we lost a lot of practice time due to the many snow days, but our students persevered and their hard work paid off.”
