Fundraising for Fisher
October 17, 2018
Junior Zach Fisher was injured in a trampoline accident Sept. 22 and a number of fundraisers have taken place to help pay for expenses.
Michelle Ries, Zach’s mom, said that Zach suffers from a spinal cord injury at the C5-C7 level with complete spinal cord lesion. Fisher underwent surgery at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital following his injury and spent several days in the PICU unit.
Currently, Fisher is at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He is wearing a neck brace and completing physical therapy.
The fundraisers will help pay for medical bills, a ramp to make getting in and out of the house accessible for Zach, a wheelchair accessible vehicle, therapy, as well as any other needs.
Junior Isabelle Willey partnered with Cutting Edge Graphics to create t-shirts, koozies, and decals for Zach. Over 130 orders were placed.
Pizza Ranch hosted two nights in Zach’s honor. Money was raised from a percentage of Pizza Ranch’s profits and from other donations.
People may also donate money to Zach’s GoFundMe page, or they may donate to the Zach Fisher Benefit account at any Dupaco Community Credit Union.
“We are beyond thankful that we have the support that we do from our family and friends and community,” Michelle Ries said.
