Agriculture-related injuries are more common than many people think.

Because of this, West Delaware High School FFA students and ISU Extension and Outreach – Delaware County partnered to host a Progressive Agriculture Farm Safety Day on May 4.

FFA members taught junior kindergarteners through first graders from St. Mary’s Catholic School and Lambert Elementary about the potential dangers on farms and how to prevent accidents from happening. They also taught children from different daycare centers around Manchester.

Students participated in different stations: lawn mower safety, pinch point safety, bus safety, seat belt safety and fire safety. Also, they learned how to make an emergency call to 911.
