YADC Participates in Back to School Bash

The West Delaware Youth Association for Disabled Citizens (YADC) volunteered at the Back to School Bash at Camp Courageous near Monticello Sept. 19.

Volunteers from Monticello, West Delaware and Western Dubuque assisted students enrolled in Special Education classes with different games such as the bean bag toss, the ring toss and basketball. Students also painted faces.

The West Delaware YADC volunteers consisted of Libby DeMoss (9), Peyton Hass (9), Hannah Mangold (11), Kyleigh Marsden (9), McKinley Rans (10), Lyla Sage (9), Jordan Schuman (9) and Hallie Wenger (9).

At each station the children earned tally marks, that were traded for prizes. Mangold said, “My favorite part was seeing the kids’ reactions after playing their games.”
