Seventeen art students presented their art work in twenty different categories in the WaMaC Art Show held April 17, at Western Dubuque High School.

Out of twenty pieces entered, 50 percent of the entries earned an award. First place ribbons were awarded to Hannah Axline (9), Amber Klein, Kristen Stiefel (9) and Cayleigh Schlichte (12); second place ribbons to Kale Rempe (9) and Kaycee Elledge (10); a third place ribbon to Emily La Rosa (11) and an honorable mention to Sierra Nolz (12) and Isabella Hettinger (10). Lastly, Amber Klein (12) received the Best of Show award in 2-D Art.

“All the WD students represented were winners just by attending the competition, no matter what the judges awarded,” art teacher Jolene Pitzenberger-Timp said.
