Kings and Queens Come to Prom 2019
April 18, 2019
A change to this year’s Prom just may entice students to stay until the end.
The 2019 Prom Committee decided to add Prom royalty in hopes of encouraging students to keep dancing until the king and queen are crowned around 10:45 p.m. and continue to enjoy the dance after the crowning as well.
“I’m excited for the new change,” committee member Victoria Harris (11) said. “I think it will be nice to have more than just the Homecoming King and Queen at our high school.”
This week, the senior class elected five senior boys and girls, excluding the 2018 Homecoming King and Queen, to make up the Prom royalty. Next week, the senior class will vote once more to determine the king and queen.
This year’s Hollywood-themed Prom will feature a variety of gold and red decorations while After Prom will incorporate a Wild West theme. Tickets for the dance will go on sale during the week of Prom; they will be $15 if purchased ahead of time and $20 at the door.
