On March 1, students arrived at school in shock when they noticed the boys’ bathroom by the high school office was locked and barricaded. The boys’ bathroom was shut down for the day, causing students to use the restroom upstairs in the freshman hallway.

“I was shook as heck when I saw it because I use that specific bathroom at least three times a day,” senior Tristan Voelker said.

Unknown students had bent stall doors and kicked in partition walls. The last time the boys’ bathroom was locked was three years ago when students ripped insulation off pipes.

According to Principal Tim Felderman, the people who had nothing to do with this incident were probably punished more than the people who did. “I truly hate group punishment,” Felderman said.

Moving beyond this incident, Felderman thinks that the students and staff need to be more vigilant for acts of vandalism. When things happen, students need to let someone know.
