Newly Remodeled Library

Studying in a newly remodeled library, seniors Abigail Wilson and Alyxandria Schiltz work on homework for the end of the term.

West Delaware remodeled the high school library over the summer.

The library purchased whiteboard tables, soft chairs, stools, whiteboards, and high top tables. They also replaced the carpet and painted. Carpet squares were used to make “future replacement easier and cheaper,” Stephanie Stocks, teacher librarian, said.

Stocks said the goal was to create a more comfortable environment for students to study and do homework in.

Stocks also said that four out of the six computer pods were removed to provide more space for comfortable seating and collaboration.

Abigail Loecke (12) said that the new tables helped her to spread out and work. “When I had way too many tabs open (on my Chromebook), I organized my stuff on the whiteboard, and it was easy to move things around and cross things off the list,” Loecke said.

Stocks is pleased with the changes. “We were looking for what would stay in style and would be around for the next 20 years,” Stocks said.
