One of the biggest stereotypes in youth soccer is eating oranges at halftime. The West Delaware soccer team and I took this to another level.
After I brought a bag of Cuties to a soccer practice, senior Keegan Carnicle and I came up with the idea of being unofficially sponsored by Cuties. When creating the team’s new Instagram account, we put Cuties in our description and included images in each of our Instagram posts. Whenever we made a post, I put it on my public Instagram story. After posting and tagging Cuties for the first time, I received a notification that shocked me. Not only did Cuties “like” my story and message me, but they also put my post in their story.
I wasn’t the only teammate Cuties noticed. Senior Landen Palmer was also recognized. Palmer created a shirt saying “Fueled by Cuties” and a West Delaware logo with an image of Cuties. He then put it on his story and the soccer team’s post. Cuties then replied to his story, not once but twice. This led to our embracing Cuties as an unofficial sponsor even more. In fact, we now bring Cuties to every practice and every game.
Every day, someone makes a joke about Cuties. One of the best parts of this is that it brings the team together in a fun way.
