Two West Delaware seniors may not only enjoy balloons and cake for their birthdays, but they may also receive an “I voted” sticker.
Adam Cook and Olivia Halverson turn 18 on Election Day, Nov. 5.
Cook looks forward to voting in the presidential election.
“I don’t know how the whole process works,” Cook said. “I will just show up, and they will tell me what to do.”
Cook looks forward to voting. “I am excited,” Cook said. “I get a voice in what our politics and country decides.”
Senior Olivia Halverson found out she could vote in the 2024 election four years ago.
“I was surprised,” Halverson said. “I was excited that it would be on my birthday!”
She feels slightly nervous being a first-time voter. However, Halverson feels her parents have educated her to participate in the process of voting.
“I would have been disappointed if Election Day had landed before my birthday,” Halverson said.
