Prepare for a fright (or a laugh) in the halls of West Delaware!
On Thursday, Oct. 31, the student council spirit subcommittee will hold a first-ever Halloween dress-up day to encourage student involvement and belonging.
Jamie Smith and Shelby Piersch, the brand-new advisors for the student council, encouraged the committee to think of new ways to involve students in culture-building activities.
According to Piersch, the best costume will be determined by teacher vote.
“Prizes and homeroom points will be given to the best dressed,” Piersch said. “Individual points for homeroom is three points per person. We also have candy prizes!”
According to Smith, students must wear school-appropriate clothes, including no masks, gore, or weapons.
Smith and Piersch want the students to have fun. “School doesn’t have to be doom, gloom, and studying all the time,” Piersch said. “It can be a fun place.”
