For Halloween the Youth Association for Disabled Citizens (YADC) held a dance for the disabled adults in Northeast Iowa. YADC helps raise awareness about disabilities and people with them.

The Halloween party was the first event held in the new building at Camp Courageous in Monticello.

“Our student always help with the haunted house and serving refreshments,” YADC leader Jean Resor said. “You can also find them dancing with the adults.”

In the last couple of weeks, the YADC explored Retrieving Freedom of Waverly, where service dogs are trained, and Clark and Associates, where prosthetics are designed for people who need them.

They also plan to analyze a different disability each month this school year.

The 10 members of YADC held the Halloween Dance on October 27 at Camp Courageous.
