The Individual Speech Team received five All State Nominations from state contest at Waldorf College. The following students will perform March 27 at the Individual All State Speech Festival at the University of Northern Iowa: Ben Litterer, Spontaneous Speaking; Holden Smith, Prose – “Comeback Kid”; Grace Reiss, Acting – “Mississippi Mirror”; Kara Hawker, Acting – “The Serpent’s Tale”; and Ben Litterer, After Dinner Speaking – “Overzealous Southerner” (non-performer).

I am the adviser at Atlantic High School. Yesterday at the Iowa Newspaper Foundation conference, we learned that Annie Cassutt was awarded the Innovation in Journalism award for helping to move her school’s newspaper online. Today we browsed the site during our journalism class. Congratulations! You are doing amazing work! Keep it up!
